Dyeing with Indigo
DYEING WITH INDIGO--Sun., June 29, 2 - 4 p.m.
Indigo is one of the most ancient and revered of all dyestuff. The iconic blue color has deep cultural roots throughout the world, with dying traditions passed on for generations.
This class is designed to introduce students to indigo, learn the basics of creating an indigo dye vat, and how to dye with it. Students will work on small fabric samples to immerse in the vat and achieve a range of blue colors and surface designs.
Please bring to class tall rubber gloves, an apron or wear clothing suitable for getting blue splashed on.
