Nuno Felting

Make something beautiful at our Nuno Felting class on Sunday, April 27, 1-3pm.

In this workshop we will explore the manipulation and placement of wool fleece on silk and cotton cloth, “drawing” and embellishing a design in wool, creating soft gathers and drape, shaping these materials into a wearable piece of art. This workshop is designed to give you a working knowledge of the nuno technique: a method of felting wool fibers into a fabric base.  Participants will create nuno felt samples as they explore different layout methods, fabric weights, and creative possibilities. Cost for the class is $35, supplies included.

Thursday Drawing/Painting Workshops

Kelsey Curkeet's drawing and watercolor classes have been so well received that we are adding a recurring Thursday night Drawing/Painting Workshop. Beginning Thursday, April 24, Kelsey will be available from 6:30 - 8:30 p.m. to work with individuals on drawing and painting. If you don't know where to start, have questions, or are stuck on something, Kelsey will guide you through it. Bring in your own project or work with still life objects in the shop. Cost is $10, plus $3 if you need materials. Consecutive attendance is not required.

Seashell Art

Are you wishing you were somewhere warm? Well, I can't magically transport you to a tropical destination, but you can have a little bit of the beach at The Workshop. This week we'll be doing projects with seashells during Open Studio.

You can paint the seashells, use the seashells to apply paint, glue the seashells to a jar or other item, add eyes to make a seashell pet, etc. As always, you are not required to do the project of the week during Open Studio. Feel free to bring in your own project or use our supplies however you like.

Stencil Pointillism, Young Artists, Teen Night

Columbus Senior Center

First Tuesday of the month brought us over to the Columbus Senior Center this morning for our Senior Craft. We played around with the concept of Pointillism making pictures with dots of paint. Using stencils to guide and fingertips as applicators makes this a fun project that anyone can do.
