The Big Move
Yes, The Workshop has moved to a new location in downtown Columbus. This is an exciting challenge that will be a great opportunity for us. The year we had a The New World Creative Studio was a great start for The Workshop. We look forward to the future in our new space. Below is information about the details of the move. Please feel free to Contact Us if you have any additional questions. Thanks for a wonderful year, and please stop by to check out our new location.

Will The Workshop still be workshoppy? Yes indeed. So much of the idea of The Workshop has been to create a studio where people (anyone young or old) can create art. To make that happen we have supplies of all kinds and a variety of tools. We will still have a sewing area, painting supplies, scrapbooking supplies, a workbench area, etc. One difference is that the new studio space is a little smaller but has basement storage. Thus, we'll have some items (stained glass supplies, candlemaking supplies, etc.) put away when not in use. For the gallery we'll be utilizing the long wall areas of the studio.
We will continue to feature art from local artists. In April, Amy Knipshield will be the last artist to have a show in the old gallery. In May, Kelly Seidl will be the first artist to show in our new space. Due to the timing of the move, Amy's field trip day on April 28th has been turned into a school visiting day where we'll be offsite meeting with students in their classrooms. Kelly's field trip day on May 14th has a few time slots available. Other dates in May have field trip availability as well.
The variety and types of classes offered at The Workshop will remain the same. We will continue to give artists and enthusiasts a platform to share what they are passionate about with others who want to learn. Our plan for summer classes and camps is changing slightly from what we had been planning. Now that we have our space decided on and the timeline of the move in place, the summer schedule will be available shortly. Sorry for the delay! The best ways to stay informed are to check the website, follow us on Facebook and sign up for our blog.
Open Studio at The Workshop is where we open up our studio space to you to come in and create your own art. Utilizing items on hand, upcylcing old items into something new, and finding creative solutions are at the core of what The Workshop is all about. We are committed to continuing to provide this great opportunity at an affordable cost. Look for additional Open Studio hours this summer.
