Exploring Creativity
Tuesdays 1:30-2:45pm
Class in a wide variety of art media. Emphasis: Drawing, painting, mixed media, 3D & sculpting, textile fiber art, printmaking techniques. All ages welcome. Participants must be 6 years old to attend without an adult.
Cost is $13/class or $60/6 class pass (plus tax).
Upcoming Projects:
June 3 - Sheep Doodles: Practice pattern drawing and create some adorable sheep on paper and rocks.
June 10 - Fabric Collage: Use fabric scraps to design a pillow or market bag. Stitch with the sewing machine or attach fabric with glue.
June 17 - Oil Pastel Vase of Flowers: Watch the oil pastels pop against a black background while creating a floral scene.
June 24 - Paper Lanterns: Celebrate the 4th of July with patriotic lanterns or use flowers and leaves to decorate the lanterns with a more natural look.
July 8 - Collagraph Printing: Learn how to use scraps of cardboard to make stamps for printing.
July 15 - Animal Portraits: Create a washy background. Transfer an animal portrait from a printout. Add color and details with pastels and paint.
July 22 - Message in a Bottle: Add a message to a real bottle and draw ships, fish, mermaids, etc. in bottles on your paper.
July 29 - Ocean Collage: Use scraps of paper to collage an ocean, swimming, boating scene.
August 5 - Paper mâché Fish: Create a 3D fish from paper and paint to add color.
August 12 - Driftwood Art: Make an art piece with driftwood, seashells, and other found objects.
August 19 - Mosaic Camper: Add scraps of paper to a canvas to design a camping scene.
August 26 - String Art Flowers: On a wood background, create a nail and string art vase. Add paper or faux flowers and leaves.
Drawing class picnic
Sunday, July 13th, 5-7pm
Come draw with us! Laura is only doing one drawing class this summer, and it’s not to be missed. We will be hanging out at Rotary Park, enjoying a potluck picnic, and drawing the food, the scenery, etc. Join us for this plein-air event. Cost is $20.

Join us for an amazing painting series this summer. Each week has a different theme. Participants will see inspiration photos and examples in watercolor and acrylic painting. They can then decide which medium they prefer for the day (watercolor or acrylic). Guidance and tips will be offered for each medium. Participants are welcome to attend the Monday and Tuesday classes, focusing on watercolor one day and acrylic the next or simply taking additional time to complete their paintings.
All ages and abilities welcome. These classes are at a beginner level, with opportunities for more advanced artists to practice their skills. Participants must be 6 years old to attend without an adult.
Cost is $13/class or $60/6 class pass (plus tax).
Ceramics Studio
Wednesdays: noon - 1pm
Thursdays: 7-8pm and 8-9pm
Learn handbuilding techniques while creating fun ceramic projects or spend some time on the wheel. Generally half of the class time will be used for creating new pieces and half will be used for glazing. Participants are welcome to come every week or drop in as their schedules allow. All tools and materials will be provided. Goldart clay is included for use with each class. Specialty clay can be purchased at $10/lb. Projects vary depending on the interests of the participants. Cost is $13/class or $60/6 class pass (plus tax).
